Is Scott Boras negotiating Manny Ramirez's condo sale in the Ritz?

 

After being listed at $6.9M for about a year on the market with no takers in 2006, Manny upped the price of his penthouse in the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton to a cool $8.5M when he put it back on the market today (because apparently there are a lot more people now that can afford the $5718 monthly condo fee than there were in 2006!).  No takers the first time...ok, let's just bump the price 23%!  Hmmm.....Sounds an awful lot like Scott Boras is now advising Manny on real estate deals as well.  If at first you don't get the offer you want, just raise your price!  

Don't get me wrong, it's a spectacular penthouse and will get lots of press attention because after all, it's "Manny being Manny", but will it sell?

Manny's $45M contract finally came together yesterday as well, so maybe Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has agreed to buy the condo too as part of the total package!  I'm suspicious.....

FYI, Manny had a full price offer when his Ritz Penthouse Condo was previous on the market in 2005. He deceided not to sell, smart move considering the super luxury boston condo market went up another 25%.

Thanks for the info Michael! While I may disagree that the super luxury market is up 25% from the end of 2006 (when the condo came off market) to now, especially in the aftermath of the economic meltdown, it certainly will be a good sign for Boston if the condo sells at that price. Plus, the bonus is that we will be officially rid of any last remaining remnants of Manny's time in Boston!
